Claudio Paniconi is professor in Hydrogeology at INRS-ETE. His main research contributions are in the physics and numerics unsaturated zone processes, the development of distributed-parameter simulation models for coupled flow and transport phenomena (including surface/subsurface interactions), and the exploration of data assimilation and remote sensing applications for catchment-scale hydrology. He is a co-developer of several hydrological models: CATHY (CATchment HYdrology), CODESA (COupled variable DEnsity and SAturation flow and transport), and hsB (hillislope-storage Boussinesq). He is an author on more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His H-index (ISI WoS) is 15.

Activities in GLOBAQUA: Due to his experties in hydrological modelling and data assimilation, he contributes to WP3-HYDROL, WP4-GEOMORPH, and WP11-INTEGRATION.
