Dr Peter Burek graduated in Applied Physical Geography. He received a PhD in engineering science on the assessment of longterm groundwater dynamics. He joined JRC-IES in May 2009, where his main tasks are the maintenance and future development of the LISFLOOD hydrological model and on integrated modelling contributing to the Blueprint to safeguard Europe's water.
