Nick Voulvoulis

Dr Nick Voulvoulis will lead a group of staff and students, and collaborate with Defra and the Environment Agency (England) to deliver Imperial's contributions to Globaqua. He is a Reader in Environmental Technology, and heads the Environmental Quality Research Group at the Centre for Environmental Policy. He is an international expert in aquatic pollution and environmental quality management, risk management and sustainability analysis for decision making, and his research has been published in some of the top journals in the field. Current research activities centre on developing the concepts and conflicting demands of the water-energy-food nexus, and the development of interdisciplinary policies and modes of action for addressing environmental challenges.



Activities in GLOBAQUA: He leads WP12-POLICY, the MODULE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, and the Anglian case study. He also participates in WP1-DATA, WP2-SCENARIOS, WP9-SOCIOECON, WP10-VALUATION, and WP13-DISSEMINATION.

Thodoros Giakoumis

Theodoros Giakoumis is a PhD environmental researcher at Imperial  looking at the integration of  ecosystem services as part of the GLOBAQUA project. His research will involve an in-depth analysis of the interactions between pressures, indicators of stress and ecosystem services. The link between Water Framework Directive monitored elements and ecosystem service provision would also be an integral part of his research in order to improve the evidence that supports the need for management



Activities in GLOBAQUA: He participates in WP12-POLICY and specifically in the activities associated with the Anglian case study.

Natalia Petrou

Natalia Petrou BSc, MSc, is a research and administrative assistant in the Environmental Quality Research Group at the Centre for Environmental Policy. Her main research interests lie in the area of sustainable development and the potential use of new technologies to that end. Natalia graduated from the University of Macedonia with a BSc in Business Administration in 2012 and from Imperial College London with an MSc in Environmental Technology specializing in Water Management in 2012.



Activities in GLOBAQUA: She participates in the Anglian case study, WP12-POLICY, WP1-DATA,  WP9-SOCIOECON, WP10-VALUATION, and WP13-DISSEMINATION.

Samuel McNeill

Samuel McNeil BSc, is a research support assistant in the Environmental Quality Research Group at the Centre for Environmental Policy. His main interests lie in environment and habitat conservation through the sustainable use and management of natural resources. Sam graduated from the University of Exeter with a BSc in Zoology in 2016.
