Lecturer of Ecology at the University of the Basque Country. My research is focused on macroinvertebrate communities, mainly within the context of ecosystem functioning. I have been involved in different research projects focusing on diversity, water quality, trophic relationships, secondary production, and in the context of the functioning of stream ecosystems, specially in the role of macroinvertebrates in leaf litter breakdown. I have authored more than 30 papers in SCI journals and 5 book chapters.
