His main expertise is in regional hydrology, catchment modelling, flood estimation and hydrology of (semi-)arid regions. He is or has been involved in numerous research and consulting projects at the national and international level, including projects in Germany, alpine region, Middle East, Arabian Peninsula, Central Asia and Southern Europe.

Activities in GLOBAQUA: He is mainly involved in WP3-HYDROL.

Since 2015, Stefanie Lutz is a PostDoc researcher in the Department of Catchment Hydrology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Halle (Saale), Germany. The focus of her research lies on hydrological modelling at the catchment scale, isotope hydrology, studying of diffuse river pollution and the impact of changing climate on catchments under water scarcity. She did her PhD in hydrological and isotope modelling at VU University Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Activities in GLOBAQUA:

She is mainly involved in WP3-HYDROL, for which she provides large-scale simulations of current and future water quantity in the Ebro and Sava GLOBAQUA river basins. Moreover, in collaboration with GLOBAQUA partners from the University of Trento, she has analysed recent trends in hydroclimatic and water quality data in the Ebro, Sava and Adige GLOBAQUA river basins.
