COOPERATION
GLOBAQUA cooperates with several projects dealing with freshwater research:MARS - Managing Aquatic ecosystems and water resources under multiple stress
MARS is a research project funded by the EU under the 7th Framework Programme aiming to investigate how multiple stressors affect rivers, lakes and estuaries in order to support EU policies, such as the Water Framework Directive and the Blueprint to Safeguard Europe’s Water Resources.
SCARCE - Assessing and predicting effects on water quantity and quality in Iberian rivers caused by global change
SCARCE is a multipurpose project that aims to describe and predict the relevance of global change impacts on water availability, water quality and ecosystem services in Mediterranean river basins of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as their impacts on the human society and economy.
SOLUTIONS searches for new and improved tools, models, and methods to support decisions in environmental and water policies. The overall goal of the project is to produce consistent solutions for the large number of legacy, present and future emerging chemicals posing a risk to European water bodies with respect to ecosystems and human health.
STAWA - Towards the assessment of ecological status of water bodies in the Sava River Basin
STAWA project is part-financed by the EU. Understanding of complex river systems such as the Sava River Basin (SRB) is an important task for proper management. Natural and socio-economic heterogeneity contributes to complexity of the task. The availability of proper information and cooperation of institutions (governmental, research, educational and non-governmental) within the SRB is the crucial goal to be achieved in order to provide solution for successful management of waters in the basin. This is particularly the main objective of this project.
